I have a couple fun website to share with you. I received an email from Shecky's, which if you don't know has awesome Girls Night Out events. Their newsletter shared a wonderful website called Workchic.com.
Workchic Co-Founders, Melissa McGraw and Jennifer Diana created this site to help women "dress for work by offering suggestions on outfits, fit guidelines, tips and tricks on how to look professional, feminine, and chic." As I looked through the pages of workchic, I came across another wonderful website! (It was a very good day!) This website is call Polyvore.
Polyvore allows you to make your own fashion collages. I was so excited! I could not wait to pair my items from Berlynn Designs with some of my favorite items. Unfortunately I found out that I could not use Polyvore with Etsy. :( SO I went and made one myself in a photo editor. AND.... Drum roll please>>>>
It is pretty simple but I think it gets the point across of how you can put a ladytie with your own work gear. Enjoy my new finds! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

"Who is your audience?"
"Who is your audience?" This is the question posed to me some weeks ago when asking advice of the wonderfully talented Deborah Moebes. Deborah is the founder of Whipstich Fabrics and talented author of the whipstitch blog. I have toiled over the answer since then. She gave me so much to think about but I still struggled to come up with an answer. In the mean time my sad little blog just sat. Well, driving home from work one day it came to me! My audience is people like me. So who am I? I am a young person in a corporate job that pays the bills but who’s passion is creating. I enjoy a great meal, shopping and stumbling over cool websites and helpful guides. From now on you are my audience. Yes you, the quirky, the cool, and the creative...all of those that don't benefit as much from the creative mom blogs.

This site has everything under the sun. You can find an entire weekend of events in your city or countless others that are featured on the site. I have registered to receive emails about style and food. You can decide how often they email you and how many topics. Everyday I look forward to seeing what they have in store for me. Not only are the articles helpful, they are amusing. 2 thumbs up for Thrillist.com!

Craft Show Results!
What an experience! The Craft show went really well. I feel like we made some really good connections.
Much to my excitement, the lady tie was a big hit! I am so happy my customers were as excited about the lady ties as I am. It's so funny how I started by scrunching fabric around my neck one night. Now I have female neckwear. I am so excited about it's future.
Just because the craft show is over that doesn't mean we rest. We are now working on customer orders. Then producing lady ties for a "pamper party" I may be vending at. Keep checking back at www.berlynndesigns.etsy.com for some merchandise from the show!

May Flowers
May 1st is fast approaching which means my time is running out! The Athens Indie Craftstravaganza is on Saturday. This will be my first time showing at a craft show and I am NERVOUS!
There are so many things to learn; so many things I have yet to learn. I had no idea how challenging this would be. Don't get me wrong, I knew it would be hard work. But I am already working a tiring full time job, then I have been coming home and working another 8 hours for the the show. Exhausting!
Superman (my hubby) has come to my rescue. He is doing both of our house chores; cooking and cleaning! He is also helping manage my little company. Anything he thought would help me.

My awesome sissy put in hours too. She has been our resident graphic designer. She designed our amazing logo and business cards. Pattoned Designs, as she would like to be called, did an awesome job! Even though I was told that I was a difficult customer :).
Next up pictures for our new website! Abra with Artistry in focus is going to be taking them. She is a good friend of ours. Stay tuned for the results!

First Post!
Hello Everyone! I am so excited to finally launch my blog and soon a new website!
My name is Alicia Chester and I have started creating an accessory brand named Berlynn Designs. Let me give you a little history on our name and how we began.
The name Berlynn is a marrying of my husband and my middle names. Since this brand would be a joint venture, it would only be appropriate for us to start by joining our names. We have always been a crafty pair, so we always exchange creative homemade gifts. Also, my husband gave me an AWESOME scavenger hunt wedding proposal that involved many original ideas.
One day he told me that a sewing machine was on sale. I had been taught the basics of sewing from my grandmother, a career seamstress, and my mother, who in those desperate times of need would quickly run to her machine to mend clothes for my sister and me.
We have now taken what I thought would be a fleeting idea and made it that and so much more! I am so excited to share our journey with all of you! Along the way we will talk about family, food, life, and of course great fashion!

I suddenly had a machine all of my own! Not knowing I could sew, my new hubby was quite surprised at my abilities. He then mentioned it would be nice to make his own neckties, knowing that truly meant "it would be nice if YOU made my neckties". I was excited to embark on my newly presented challenge. Now more than 2 years later, who knew that would be my passion?!
